Yesterday, SYCABEL, published its latest report on the impact of rising energy costs on the cable industry. This report, depicts an alarming situation for all players in the sector, despite a first alert in March 2022.

Public authorities already alerted in March 2022!<\/strong>

As early as March 2022, the SYCABEL (SYNDICAT PROFESSIONNEL
\nDES FABRICATS DE FILS ET C\u00c2BLES \u00c9LECTRIQUES ET DE COMMUNICATION) had alerted its partners and the public authorities to the crisis underway for manufacturers and more specifically for all players in the cable industry.

No major change has occurred since last year and we note that energy prices remain at high levels, whether for gas or electricity.

A bill multiplied by 10!<\/strong>

“In two years, cable companies have seen their energy-related expenses explode, with electricity and gas costs increasing by a factor of around 10.”

Energy is a major part of power and communication cable manufacturing. A return to normal is not envisaged in the near future. Our factories are running at full capacity despite the current energy crisis, enabling us to meet our customers’ needs.
