The Broadcast Team: Ensuring the Reliability of Your Systems
Repair, maintenance, and on-site technical support for the audiovisual and events industries
At JENOPTEC NT, our excellence is built on the expertise and dedication of our teams. Among them, the Broadcast team plays a key role: every day, it ensures the performance, safety, and reliability of our clients’ installations in the audiovisual and events sectors.
In this article, we invite you to learn about their work, their responsibilities, as well as the specific characteristics of broadcast cables and the repair methods used in our workshop.
What is a broadcast cable?
In the audiovisual industry, a broadcast cable is a cable specifically designed to carry video, audio, fiber-optic, or hybrid signals in demanding environments such as TV studios, film sets, sporting events, concerts, and live broadcasts.
These cables are distinguished by:
• their durability, designed to withstand heavy use, pulling, impacts, and a variety of outdoor conditions;
• their signal stability, which is essential for ensuring reliable real-time transmission;
Even the slightest malfunction or loss of signal can jeopardize a recording or live broadcast, which is why meticulous maintenance and expertly performed repairs are so important.
How do you repair a broadcast cable?
Repairing a broadcast cable requires a combination of technical expertise, specialized tools, and a high degree of precision. At JENOPTEC NT, every cable is processed using a proven procedure:
- Full diagnosis
The first step is to inspect the cable: visual inspection, continuity test, optical measurements, and verification of the shielding, jacket, connectors, and contacts.

- Disassembly and repair
Based on the results of the diagnostic assessment, the team proceeds with: restoring the outer sheath, replacing or repairing the shielding, and rebuilding the internal structures (fiber, copper, insulation, etc.).
- Replacement and installation of connectors
Connectors are disassembled, cleaned, or replaced.
For optical fibers, the process includes: cleaving, splicing, polishing, and microscopic inspection.
- Compliance testing
Each cable undergoes a series of rigorous tests: measurement of optical insertion loss and return loss, mechanical strength testing, compliance checks, and field testing if necessary.
- Packaging and Traceability
The cable is then cleaned, labeled, and packaged.
A technical inspection sheet can be provided to ensure full traceability.
A completely redesigned broadcast space for greater efficiency
To support this initiative, we recently upgraded the space dedicated to broadcasting:

✔ A reorganization of the U-shaped broadcast flow has been implemented, resulting in improved traffic flow, increased productivity, and enhanced safety.
✔ Implementation of the 5S method across all workstations: cleanliness, organization, ergonomics, and efficiency in daily operations.
✔ Creation of a dedicated storage area: optimized management of new and used cable inventory, immediate availability for urgent repairs.
These improvements enable us to respond more quickly, more efficiently, and with the quality our customers expect.
Do you work in the audiovisual or events industry?
Our team handles the repair, maintenance, and complete refurbishment of your broadcast cables to ensure their reliability, performance, and maximum lifespan, even in the most demanding environments.
